On the afternoon of Sunday 6th October, we will also be gathering at 3.00pm for lots of apple related fun and food. There will be apple themed games, craft and activities for all ages to enjoy, then at 5.00pm we will be serving pork and apple burgers or sausages in buns (vegetarian option also available).
As part of this event, you are invited to enter the Apple Baking Competition with any apple related cake, tart, flan, crumble or other desert. Entries will be judged and rosettes awarded, before we all enjoy eating the contributions.
The competition categories are as follows:
- Junior Category (13 years or under)
- Senior Category (14 years and above)
- Special Commendations – Awards at the discretion of the judges, perhaps for gluten free or some other notable entry.
Please note that all entries need to be submitted with a label/tag which includes your name, age if entering the junior category and list of ingredients – especially allergens.
Apple Afternoon is not a ticketed event, but there is a suggested donation on the day of £3 per adult and £2 for children.
Whilst we trust that competition entries will be made in accordance with good hygiene practices, people’s kitchens cannot be guaranteed to be free from allergens. Therefore anyone attending with an allergy must take due caution when consuming any of the food.
